Welcome to Birdhurst Medical Practice - Monday 26th August 2019 - we are closed for the Bank Holiday.

We have been approved as a Training Practice and will be introducing GP Trainee's to our team, they are qualified doctors who are training to join General Practice. The GP Trainee's are overseen and fully supported by a Senior GP in the Practice. 

PLT Afternoon - Wednesday 18th September 2019. We will be closed from 12.30 - 2pm for a Practice Meeting and Staff Training. There will be no GP’s available in the afternoon and we will be covered by the Out of Hours Service. 

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

TEXT REMINDER SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE - Please ensure that your mobile phone numbers are updated at reception and you will be able to receive text reminders of your appointments - if you share a mobile number with children, let us know so that we can opt you in to the service. Those aged 12 - 15 years are unable to use the reminder service due to confidentiality. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SERVICES USES A MOBILE NUMBER THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCESS - PLEASE DO NOT SEND MESSAGES TO US VIA THIS SERVICE. 

TELEPHONE LINES - please be aware that between 1pm - 2pm, Monday to Friday our phones lines will offer a reduced service, in the event of a medical emergency there will be an alternative number to call, for all other enquiries we will ask that you call back after 2pm.

Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available

Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday). Appointments will take place at an NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or call NHS111 book an appointment.


By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at
